Director, Knowledge Mobilisation

The Director, Knowledge Mobilisation will lead the production and use of evidence, including knowledge synthesis, dissemination, transfer, exchange, and co-creation internally and externally. The Director, Knowledge Mobilisation will:

  • have a proven track record in best practice date collection, evaluation and dissemination
  • guide improved health outcomes for rural communities by contributing to the knowledge base addressing rural health challenges
  • drive RDN strategy and commitment to evidence-based practice as part of the Executive Team
  • take responsibility for leading research and data management, translation and dissemination, brokering partnerships and resources and establishing good governance
  • build and sustain RDN’s capabilities of strategic thinking, critical appraisal, operational logic, program methodologies and program implementation
  • inform innovation and create business strategies focused on the overall goals of RDN as well as the Knowledge Mobilisation team.

NSW Rural Doctors Network (RDN) exists to improve access to health and social services for remote, rural, regional and disadvantaged communities. We achieve this by working in partnership with local communities to identify, and implement, responses tailored to their priority health access needs; developing evidence-informed and scalable health solutions that respond to local need and enhance access to care, building and sustaining a workforce capable of delivering quality care in response to community access need; and enabling the health and social care system to achieve strong health outcomes in communities with health access.

About the role

This exciting new position has been created to capitalise on RDN’s industry leadership and innovation. The Director will report to the CEO and be part of the Executive team. The successful applicant will:

  • provide leadership and community engagement,
  • understand evidence and its role in strategy,
  • enable conceptual thinking to build sustainable business, and
  • support RDN’s development throughout the globe.

Demonstrated experience in:

  • a similar role growing organisational development through knowledge mobilisation
  • as a high-level strategic leader
  • using evidence and its role in strategy
  • delivering presentations
  • producing peer reviewed and industry articles or publications.
