Director Engagement, Marketing and Enterprise Development 

The Director Engagement, Marketing and Enterprise Development will lead and drive the NSW Rural Doctors Network (RDN) corporate affairs, engagement, product development, partnerships, philanthropy, sales and social enterprises portfolios with a focus on product activation and resource development capabilities.  

 

About NSW Rural Doctors Network 
NSW Rural Doctors Network (RDN) exists to improve access to health and social services for remote, rural, regional and disadvantaged communities. We achieve this by working in partnership with local communities to identify and implement responses tailored to their priority health access needs; developing evidence-informed and scalable health solutions that respond to local need and enhance access to care, building and sustaining a workforce capable of delivering quality care in response to community access need; and enabling the health and social care system to achieve strong health outcomes in communities with health access challenges. 

 

About the role 
This exciting new position has been created to capitalise on RDN’s industry leadership and innovation. The Director will report to the CEO and be part of the Executive team. The successful applicant will: 

  • provide outstanding internal and social leadership 
  • strive to be highly active in the rural health industry and support its development 
  • understand and embrace evidence and its role in strategy 
  • enable conceptual thinking to build a sustainable business
  • support RDN’s continued development, sustainability and impact. 

 
The opportunity   

As a member of RDN’s Executive team, the role’s accountability includes:  

  • contribution and leadership in organisational strategy, culture and performance 
  • responsibility for RDN's corporate affairs and engagement, marketing and sales, partnerships and philanthropy and social enterprise portfolios 
  • overseeing RDN’s brand and reputation, government policy, relations and advocacy, communications, membership strategy, stakeholder strategy, customer journeys and account management, marketing and sales,  partnerships, sponsorships and philanthropy
  • expanding RDN’s reputation and engagement within local, state, national and international health networks and not-for-profit, government and commercial industry.

As a strategic and general management role, it is expected that these responsibilities are delivered in an evidence-based manner that is well-integrated and with a business partner mindset across the organisation to support the achievement of RDN's overall goals and annual targets.

  • as a high-level strategic leader 
  • using evidence and an understanding of its role in strategy
  • building and sustaining high-performing business units
  • industry engagement and representation 
  • leading marketing and sales campaigns and meeting targets 
  • producing peer-reviewed and industry articles or publications. 

 

To be considered for this role, you must have demonstrated success and extensive experience in business, sales, organisational strategy, product management, people management, corporate affairs, communications or other related fields and relevant tertiary qualifications. You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of cultural responsiveness and commitment to Aboriginal engagement and health. Regular and extensive travel within NSW and Australia is required for this role as such you will need to hold your current Drivers Licence (Class C).
